The IR470LY-4021 is part of the ISOMETER® series, specifically engineered to monitor ungrounded AC systems. It operates by superimposing a DC measuring voltage onto the system; if the insulation resistance drops below a pre-configured value, the device triggers an alarm.

• IT Systems Only: This device is exclusively for unearthed (IT) systems. It cannot be used in TN or TT (grounded) systems.

• No DC Components: The IR470LY series is designed for systems without large power electronics (like VFDs or rectifiers) that introduce DC components. For systems with DC components, the Bender IRDH series is recommended.

• Single Device Rule: Only one insulation monitoring device should be connected to a single galvanically connected IT system to avoid measurement interference.

• Coupler Use: For voltages exceeding 793 V, an AGH-series voltage coupler must be used to protect the device.
