The PXIe-2531 is built on Reed Relay technology, providing a balance of speed and longevity. High Density in a Single Slot: Offers 512 crosspoints in a single PXI Express slot, saving valuable rack space. Fast Switching Speeds: Utilizing reed relays allows for significantly faster actuation times (sub-millisecond) compared to traditional electromechanical armatures. Onboard Relay Counting: Tracks relay cycles to assist in predictive maintenance and system uptime. Hardware Triggers: Supports PXI triggers, allowing the switch to synchronize with DMMs or oscilloscopes for high-speed automated sequences without software overhead. Scalability: Multiple modules can be linked together using terminal blocks or cables to create even larger matrices (e.g., 4x256 or 8x128). The NI PXIe-2531 is ideal for environments where many measurement points must be connected to a few instrument channels. Massive Parallel Testing: Routing signals in semiconductor or PCB functional testing. Data Acquisition (DAQ): Scanning hundreds of sensors (voltages, temperatures) into a single measurement device. Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL): Simulating various fault conditions or routing signals between real-time controllers and physical hardware.
